Can we call her a 'scream queen'? I only wonder cuz she's always something of a tough heroine, almost never screaming like a girl and running (and cue jiggling boobs) from whatever terror happens to be lurking. Her characters are usually the ones to punch those kinds of girls in the face with a "seriously, dude. wtf?' While I wouldn't call her a 'scream queen', I would call her awesome.

Very happy to say that I got to meet her at Dragoncon this year.

Cullan: In this series, I'm using the term just to apply to women in horror and thriller flicks. Dushku isn't the only actress featured who hasn't done a whole lot of screaming. And "awesome" is a feature that ALL actresses I've thrown the spotlight here have in common.

But Awesome Actress Saturday doesn't quite have the same ring. :)

While Eliza Dushku’s best known work in genre TV is for playing tuff gurlz like Faith in BtVS and Echo/Caroline Farrell in Dollhouse, she has played some fairly normal women horror films. Eliza played an AWF Jessie Burlingame in 2003’s Wrong Turn and the slightly-creepy but still fairly AWF in the dreadful 2009 Open Graves.

She's good in Wrong Turn, and my wife and I were enjoying Tru Calling until they retooled it, added Jason Priestly, then cancelled it. She's a cutie for sure.
